UnityPoint Health-Meriter Joins HealthConnect.Link to Promote Access to Affordable Health Care

Madison, December 20, 2016 – HealthConnect.Link, a Madison-based non-profit venture, is very pleased to announce the recent addition of UnityPoint Health – Meriter to their growing network of community partners.

Lisa Bell, Community Relations Manager for UnityPoint Health – Meriter, noted “We can do so much within the confines of our hospital and clinics, but connecting our patients – especially those that are most vulnerable - with needed community resources for continued support is invaluable.” Bell added, “Our clinicians – from physicians to nurses to medical assistants – are all part of these conversations with our patients early on.  We view HealthConnect.Link as a valuable connector in these conversations.  Any resource that we’re able to use in real time that will provide resources makes for a more efficient provision of patient care.”

About the establishment of this partnership, Kevin Dwyer, CEO of HealthConnect.Link, said “The entire HealthConnect.Link team is thrilled to welcome UnityPoint Health – Meriter as our newest community partner. Being able to put our online resource in the hands of over 3,500 healthcare professionals will make for a tremendous start to our Dane County pilot program next spring. However, including those individuals in the development processes now means we will be building this resource in collaboration with the community, not just for the community. “
