Madison, June 6, 2017 – HealthConnect.Link, a Madison-based non-profit venture, was recently honored to be selected as the first place recipient of the GHC–SCW Annual Innovation Award. HealthConnect.Link founder and CEO, Kevin Dwyer, worked in collaboration on this project with Christina Bell, DNP, RN, noted nursing leader and educator.
HealthConnect.Link is working to help underserved patients access needed services and support. HealthConnect is working with UW Madison School of Social Work, SSM Health, and several other stakeholders to develop an online resource able to instantly match a person in need with organizations or programs that are immediately available to offer care.
"We are excited to award HealthConnect.Link an Innovation Award through the GHC-SCW Center for Primary Care Innovation at the Henry Predolin School of Nursing, Edgewood College,” stated Mogi Roulet, PhD. “We believe this resource has the potential to significantly ease healthcare referral processes and increase access to healthcare services among vulnerable patients by providing easily accessible, real-time information about available healthcare resources to both healthcare professionals and community members."
Christina Bell, DNP, RN of Edgewood College Henry Predolin School of Nursing noted, “HealthConnect.link is an amazing app., providing current (i.e., point in time) access to both free and subsidized health and social services, making access possible for those who often struggle to obtain necessary health care and resources. This amazing tool is bridging the information gap so a patient will be matched to the right resource(s) in less than 60 seconds, positively influencing the lives of so many.” Dr. Bell is a longtime educator and community health care nurse, leading international efforts in innovative nursing care and education.
